- You have had at least one previous gout attack before now.
- Your current gout flare started within the last 48 hours.
- You are a man, or if a woman you are not pregnant or breastfeeding and use effective birth control.
- You have not taken any NSAID pain relievers (like ibuprofen) in the last 48 hours.
- You do not have a history of stomach ulcers, serious heart disease, or severe kidney/liver problems.
