Who can take part
- You are between 21 and 60 years old
- You are in good health or have mild health problems (ASA I or II)
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 25 and 30
- You are having planned (not emergency) front neck spine surgery under general anesthesia
- You do not have any blood clotting disorders, severe liver or kidney problems, or chronic pain
- You are not allergic to the numbing medicines bupivacaine or fentanyl
