Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have limited-stage small cell lung cancer (cancer that is only in one lung and nearby lymph nodes).
  • You can have had up to 2 cycles of chemotherapy, but no other cancer treatment before.
  • You must be in good general health (able to do daily activities with little or no help).
  • You need at least one tumor that can be measured on scans (for example, a tumor that is at least 1 cm or a lymph node that is at least 1.5 cm).
  • Your blood counts and organ function (kidney, liver) must be within safe limits as checked by blood tests.
