Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a first episode of a psychotic disorder like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder with psychosis.
  • You are currently experiencing moderate or more severe symptoms, such as disorganized thinking, grandiosity, hallucinations, or unusual beliefs.
  • You have taken antipsychotic medication for a total of 8 weeks or less in your lifetime.
  • You are between 15 and 40 years old.
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form.
  • You do not have any serious neurological or endocrine disorder, brain injury, or condition requiring psychotropic medication.
  • You are not at significant risk of harming yourself or others, and you do not have any reason that would prevent an MRI scan (like a pacemaker) or pregnancy.
