National study of people at risk for rheumatoid arthritis

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You either have certain antibodies (ACPA and rheumatoid factor) that raise your risk for RA, or you are a first-degree relative of someone with RA, or you have very early RA that hasn't been treated yet
  • You do not have joint swelling (synovitis) that has been noted by a doctor
  • You have never taken background treatments for RA (like methotrexate) or steroids at high doses recently
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you can follow the study procedures for the duration
