Who can take part
- You must have a BMI of at least 28 (but less than 40), or a BMI of at least 24 with a weight-related health issue like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, liver disease, or joint pain.
- You must have tried losing weight through diet and exercise before, and lost less than 5% of your body weight after at least 3 months of effort.
- You must not have diabetes (type 1, type 2, or any other type).
- Your weight must be stable (no gain or loss of 5% or more recently).
- You must not have had certain stomach or intestinal conditions, or surgery that affects digestion, such as gastric bypass or irritable bowel syndrome.
- You must not have taken certain diabetes or weight-loss medications recently (like GLP-1 drugs in the last 6 months, or other diabetes medicines in the last 3 months).
