Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must have bile duct or gallbladder cancer that is advanced or has spread and cannot be surgically removed.
- You must not have received any previous chemotherapy or other systemic treatment for this cancer, unless it was more than 6 months ago as part of a prior curative treatment.
- You must be able to perform daily activities with little or no help (ECOG 0 or 1).
- You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
- Your liver, kidney, and blood counts must be within certain limits (your doctor will check these).
- You cannot have brain metastases, active autoimmune disease, or severe heart problems.
- Women who can become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test and use contraception; men must also use contraception during and for some time after treatment.
