Who can take part
- You are able to get up and take care of yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- You have been diagnosed with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) that has not spread outside the liver and cannot be surgically removed or you choose not to have surgery.
- Your liver is working well enough (Child-Pugh score 7 or less) and your tumor does not take up more than half of your liver.
- You have not had any prior cancer treatment for liver cancer, like surgery, transplant, ablation, chemo, radiation, or targeted therapy.
- Your blood counts, liver enzymes, kidney function, and blood clotting are within acceptable limits.
- You agree to use effective birth control during the study and for 6 months after.
