Who can take part
- Your wound is at least 75 cm² (about the size of a large hand)
- The wound is on an arm, leg, shoulder, or buttock, but not going into your belly or chest
- Your wound can be treated with a special suction device (Negative Pressure Wound Therapy) using 3M™ V.A.C.® canisters
- You do not have diabetes that requires insulin
- You do not have peripheral vascular disease (problems with blood flow in your arms or legs)
- You are not pregnant, incarcerated, or taking medications that weaken your immune system
