Who can take part

  • You have cataracts in both eyes that are related to aging
  • You have had laser eye surgery (LASIK or PRK) in the past for nearsightedness, with maybe one touch-up procedure
  • Your eyes are otherwise healthy and you are expected to see well (20/25 or better) after cataract surgery
  • Any astigmatism you have can be fixed with a special lens or a small cut during surgery
  • You have not had any other eye surgeries besides laser eye surgery, and you have not had RK (radial keratotomy)
