Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (or a related type with very low hormone receptors) that is advanced, has come back and cannot be removed by surgery, or has spread to other parts of the body.
- You have not had any prior treatment for this advanced stage of cancer (though you may have had earlier treatment for earlier-stage disease).
- You are not eligible for treatment with immunotherapy drugs like pembrolizumab or atezolizumab, for example because your cancer is PD-L1 negative, you have an autoimmune disease, or you had a severe reaction to immunotherapy before.
- If your cancer is the ER-low type, you are not a candidate for hormone-blocking therapy.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a CT or MRI scan.
- You have not had untreated brain metastases, and any treated brain metastases must be stable. You do not have any cancer spread to the spinal fluid (leptomeningeal metastases).
