Entacapone with Madopar for early Parkinson's

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have early-stage Parkinson's (Hoehn and Yahr stage 1 to 2.5) and a specialist confirmed the diagnosis.
  • You either have never taken levodopa, or you take a steady dose of 300-600 mg per day for at least a month.
  • You have not used entacapone or tolcapone before (or for more than 30 days in the past).
  • Your thinking skills (assessed by an MMSE test) are good (score 26 or higher).
  • You do not have depression that is moderate to severe (BDI score under 15).
