Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and getting a kidney transplant from a living or deceased donor.
  • This is your first kidney transplant.
  • You do not have any known allergy to amino acids.
  • You are stable after the transplant and do not need dialysis right away.
  • You do not have a severe liver problem, uncontrolled infection, or recent cancer (other than skin cancer).
