It may be an option if you are still in a coma, vegetative, or minimally conscious state and have been stable for more than 6 weeks.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a prolonged disorder of consciousness (coma, vegetative state, or minimally conscious state) that started more than 6 weeks ago.
  • Your doctor has confirmed it is safe for you to participate in physical therapy.
  • You have not fully recovered from the minimally conscious state (you are not able to communicate or use objects consistently).
  • You weigh less than 135 kg (about 298 pounds) and your legs are between 75 and 100 cm long.
  • You have a family member or legal representative who can give permission for you to take part.
