Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have had a brain injury from any cause, such as a stroke, trauma, or lack of oxygen.
  • You are currently in a coma, unresponsive wakefulness state, or minimally conscious state, confirmed by a special scale (CRS-R).
  • Your ear skin must be healthy where the stimulation device will be placed.
  • You cannot have any other active medical devices inside your body (like a pacemaker or cochlear implant).
  • You are not pregnant and do not need strong sedative medicines to keep you asleep.
