This trial tests if losartan, a blood pressure medication, can improve healing and recovery after surgery for a multi-ligament knee injury. Taking losartan for 30 days after surgery may reduce stiffness and help you get back to your normal activities sooner.

Who can take part

  • You have torn two or more major knee ligaments completely (a multi-ligament knee injury)
  • You have had surgery to repair or reconstruct at least one of those torn ligaments
  • You are willing to follow the study plan, including taking the study drug and attending follow-up visits
  • You are not allergic to losartan or any of its ingredients
  • You are not pregnant and, if you can become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control while taking losartan
  • You do not have severe kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or high potassium levels, and you have not had knee ligament surgery on the same knee before
