Plasma vs salt water for scoliosis surgery in kids

Who can take part

  • You are between 10 and 21 years old.
  • You have scoliosis (a curve in your spine) that needs surgery with screws in the bones, and the curve is at least 45 degrees (for some types) or 50 degrees (for others).
  • You do not have a lack of immunoglobulin A (a part of your immune system).
  • You do not currently smoke.
  • You do not have diabetes.
  • You do not have problems with blood clotting, low platelets, or kidney issues.
