This study looks at how proteins in the blood may help us understand why teenagers develop scoliosis (a sideways curve in the spine). If you have mild to moderate scoliosis and are getting care at Children's Hospital Colorado, you may be able to join this study to help researchers learn more about the condition.

Who can take part

  • You are 10 to 17 years old.
  • You have scoliosis with a spinal curve (Cobb angle) between 10 and 50 degrees.
  • You are currently being treated for scoliosis at a Children's Hospital Colorado clinic.
  • Your scoliosis is not due to a genetic condition (like Down syndrome or Marfan syndrome) or a birth defect.
  • Your scoliosis was diagnosed after age 9, and you don't have spine surgery already planned.
  • You are not taking certain medications that affect proteins (like steroids, seizure meds, or muscle relaxants), and you are not pregnant.
