Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a lower back tooth (molar) that is still alive and is causing pain (symptomatic apical periodontitis).
  • Your pain level is greater than 50 on a 0–100 scale.
  • You are not pregnant and have not taken any painkillers in the last 12 hours.
  • You have no serious health conditions, allergies, genetic disorders, or other dental problems listed in the study.
