Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with bipolar I disorder and are currently in a manic or mixed episode that started within the last 3 weeks.
- You need to be in the hospital for this manic episode.
- You have stopped taking other psychiatric medications within the past 14 days (with your doctor's guidance).
- You do not have other major mental health conditions like depression, borderline personality disorder, or a substance problem (except tobacco) in the last year.
- You are not at risk of suicide and do not have certain stomach or bladder problems like severe constipation or urinary retention.
