Who can take part
- You have bipolar I disorder and are currently in a manic or mixed episode that started within the last 3 weeks.
- You are already taking a stable dose of lithium, valproate, or lamotrigine for at least 2 weeks.
- You need to be in the hospital for this manic episode.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 40.
- You do not have other major mental health conditions like schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, or severe substance use problems.
