- You are 18 years or older
- You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU)
- You have a suspected or confirmed infection (like being on antibiotics or having a culture taken recently)
- Your heart's pumping ability is less than 50% on a recent ultrasound
- You did not have heart failure with reduced pumping ability before coming to the ICU
- Your ICU admission was not due to surgery
