Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You are recovering from septic shock and need less medication to keep your blood pressure stable.
  • You have signs of heart strain or damage, like a high BNP or NT-proBNP level, or a low heart pumping ability (ejection fraction below 50%).
  • You have not had a dose of water pills (diuretics) in the last 6 hours.
  • You have a normal heart rhythm (sinus rhythm) and a small tube in your artery to monitor heart function.
