Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You either have leg pain while walking (claudication) or are a healthy volunteer
  • If you have PAD symptoms, you must already be scheduled for vascular testing
  • If you are a healthy volunteer, you must have a normal body mass index and no history of smoking, diabetes, or heart disease
  • You cannot have gangrene, leg ulcers, or recently had leg surgery or a stent
  • You must be able to have an ultrasound scan on your legs
