Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older and have retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited eye disease that causes vision loss).
  • A genetic test must confirm you have a specific change in the RHO gene (called c.403C>T, p.R135W).
  • The eye being treated must still have some living cells that sense light and support vision.
  • Your vision in the treated eye must be between counting fingers and reading 60 letters on an eye chart.
  • You and your partner must agree to use birth control during the study and for at least 1 year after treatment.
  • You cannot have had gene therapy or stem cell therapy for RP before, or certain eye surgeries in the past 3 months.
