Who can take part

  • You must have a diagnosis of COPD based on lung function tests.
  • You must be at least 40 years old.
  • You must have long-term breathing symptoms like cough, shortness of breath, or wheezing.
  • You must not have a serious illness (like advanced cancer or severe heart or kidney failure) that would make it hard to follow the study for 3 years.
  • You must be able to understand and sign a consent form.
