Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older with non-severe aplastic anemia that depends on blood transfusions.
  • A bone marrow test must show your body is trying to make red blood cells (more than 15% red cell precursors).
  • If you've been on other treatments like immunosuppressants, androgens, or erythropoietin for at least 3–6 months, they must not have worked.
  • You need a serum ferritin level of 1000 or higher, which shows iron overload from transfusions.
  • You must agree to genetic testing (whole exome and MDS/AA panel).
