Who can take part

  • You had a specific type of heart attack called STEMI, confirmed by an ECG and a catheterization procedure.
  • Right after the catheterization, you had a fast heart rate (over 100 beats per minute) or low blood pressure, but without any signs that your organs were not getting enough blood.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are able to understand the study and give your consent to participate.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have active asthma, severe heart block, a very slow heart rate (below 60), or an allergy to the drug metoprolol.
