Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You had a specific type of heart attack (STEMI) that led to cardiogenic shock (your organs are not getting enough blood).
  • Your heart rate is at least 100 beats per minute and you have a normal heart rhythm (sinus rhythm).
  • You cannot take beta-blockers (a type of heart medication) for reasons such as needing blood pressure support or a breathing machine.
  • You do not have atrial fibrillation, complete heart block, or advanced kidney disease.
  • You have not had CPR for more than 12 minutes, and you are not pregnant or in another trial.
