Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for surgery on your stomach, colon, rectum, or lung that will use staples to reconnect tissue.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and attend follow-up visits after surgery.
  • You do not have a history of collagen disease, bleeding problems, or severe kidney or liver issues.
  • You do not have an uncontrolled infection in your belly area.
  • During your surgery, you are not expected to have a serious drop in blood pressure or heart problems.
