  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have rectal cancer located within 12 cm from the anal opening.
  • Your surgery will involve a stapled connection less than 7 cm from the anal opening.
  • You are having minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic, robotic, or TaTME).
  • You do not have cancer that has spread to other organs.
