Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 75 years old.
  • You have pre-diabetes (fasting blood sugar 5.6–6.9 mmol/L or HbA1c 5.7–6.4%).
  • You have lived in Guangzhou for the past 6 months and won't travel outside the city in the next month.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and participate.
  • You are not lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy products.
  • You are not taking any diabetes medication, have not used antibiotics in the last 3 months, and are not pregnant or planning pregnancy within 3 months.
