Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of 5q-autosomal recessive SMA through genetic testing.
  • You must be able to use your hands for simple tasks like holding a pencil, picking up a coin, using a phone keypad, or driving a powered wheelchair.
  • You must not have severe joint stiffness that limits movement, as judged by the study doctor.
  • You must not have significant breathing problems that could make the study unsafe.
  • You must not have behavioral or cognitive issues that would make it hard to follow study instructions.
