Who can take part

  • You are 21 or older
  • Your red blood cell magnesium level is below 6.0 mg/dL (a blood test will check this)
  • You are willing to stop taking any magnesium supplements for about 2 weeks before the study starts and during the study
  • You can get to a blood draw facility within 20 miles of your home
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
  • You do not have a serious medical condition like cancer, a neurological disorder, or a recent heart event
