Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 and 16 years old.
  • Your child is having a planned chest surgery to treat overactive sweat glands (bilateral thoracoscopic sympathectomy).
  • Your child is generally healthy (classified as ASA I or II).
  • Your child does not have allergies to numbing medicines (local anesthetics).
  • Your child does not have serious bleeding problems or spinal issues.
  • Your child's skin at the injection site on the back is healthy (no infection or damage).
