Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Your child is scheduled for chest surgery (thoracotomy) under general anesthesia.
  • Your child is in good overall health (ASA I or II).
  • Your child does not have serious kidney, heart, or liver problems.
  • Your child has no bleeding disorders or infection near the injection site.
