Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are having laparoscopic (keyhole) abdominal surgery with general anesthesia.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 20 and 30.
  • You do not have any bleeding or clotting problems.
  • You do not have an infection on your back where the injection would go.
  • You do not have chronic pain or take strong painkillers regularly.
