Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 50 years old.
- Your surgery is expected to take less than 3 hours and does not involve your airway, head, or neck.
- You are generally healthy or have only mild health problems (fit ASA class 1, 2, or 3).
- You do not have any lung conditions, such as asthma, COPD, or a recent serious respiratory infection.
- You are not pregnant and are not enrolled in another anesthesia or surgery research study.
- Your surgery is not scheduled for a Friday or the day before a holiday.
