Who can take part

  • You must be 19 years old or older
  • You are scheduled to have surgery under general anesthesia
  • You do not have a history of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • You have not eaten or drunk anything for the required time before surgery
  • You do not have any airway abnormalities like tumors, polyps, or trauma
  • You have not had previous surgery on your upper airway
