Who can take part

  • You must be between 21 and 60 years old and in good general health.
  • You need a dental implant placed in the back part of your lower jaw, several months after the tooth is taken out.
  • You should have good oral health and be willing to sign a consent form.
  • You cannot be a heavy smoker (more than 10 cigarettes a day), pregnant, or have a condition that makes implant surgery unsafe.
  • You must not have had radiation to the head or neck, or have uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding problems, or a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
