Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You are generally healthy or have only mild health issues (ASA I or II).
- Your surgery is a planned (not emergency) brain surgery through the top of the skull.
- You have no known allergies to the numbing medicines used (bupivacaine or dexmedetomidine).
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or infection at the scalp injection site.
- You are expected to be awake and have your breathing tube removed right after surgery.
