Who can take part

  • Age between 20 and 60 years old.
  • You are scheduled for surgery to remove a tumor from the upper part of the brain (supratentorial), and you will be lying on your back.
  • The surgery is expected to last less than 6 hours.
  • You are not allergic to the medicines ketamine or dexmedetomidine.
  • You do not have long-standing headaches or take pain medicine daily for more than 3 months.
