Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 18 to 70 years old.
- You need to have a nipple-sparing mastectomy (saving the nipple) on one or both breasts, with an implant placed right after surgery.
- You have breast cancer that is non-specialized (like ductal carcinoma in situ, invasive ductal, or invasive lobular) and the tumor is 5 cm or smaller, or you are getting a preventive mastectomy.
- The cancer has not spread to your nipple, skin, chest wall, or other parts of the body.
- You have not had open breast surgery in the last year (except a minimally invasive biopsy).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have severe health problems, a high BMI, or uncontrolled diabetes.
