Eye fluid study in diabetes and cataract patients

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a cataract and are scheduled for cataract surgery.
  • You have no other eye problems besides the cataract.
  • You have had type 2 diabetes for at least 5 years (if you are in the diabetic group).
  • You have not had any previous eye surgery.
  • You do not have inflammatory eye diseases like uveitis.
  • You are not taking steroid medications (either as eye drops or by mouth).
