This trial tests whether a comprehensive geriatric assessment (a detailed review of your overall health and function) before and after a major liver or pancreatic surgery can improve recovery and quality of life for older adults with cancer. If you are 70 or older and scheduled for one of these surgeries, this study may help tailor your care to reduce complications.

Who can take part
- Age 70 years or older.
- Diagnosis of one of the listed cancers: liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma), gallbladder cancer, cancers near the pancreas (peri-ampullary), pancreatic adenocarcinoma, or colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver.
- Planned major liver surgery (removing at least 3 segments of the liver) OR a Whipple procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) to remove the cancer.
- Must have access to the French health system.
- Must be able to sign a consent form.
- Not currently in another double-blind randomized trial.
