Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have stage 2 or 3 neurotrophic keratitis (a cornea that doesn't feel pain properly).
- You have a persistent corneal defect (an open sore on the front of the eye) that hasn't healed.
- The defect must be at least 1 mm wide but no larger than 8 mm.
- You are not pregnant and agree to use birth control if needed.
- You have not had corneal transplant surgery in the past 2 years or multiple transplants.
