Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have a BMI of 30 or more, OR a BMI of 27 or more AND a weight-related health issue (like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, or sleep apnea).
  • You are willing to follow a reduced-calorie diet and exercise program for at least part of the study.
  • You have not lost or gained more than 5% of your body weight in the last 12 weeks.
  • You do not have diabetes, a history of major depression, or certain other medical conditions (like a recent stroke or cancer).
