Estrogen's Effect on Bone Health in FHA
Part of Bones, joints & muscles, Hormones & metabolism, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This study tests how estrogen treatment affects bone strength in young women with Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (FHA), a condition where periods stop due to stress, low weight, or over-exercise. Participants who have had very few periods will receive estrogen to see if it improves bone density.

This study tests whether a bone-building medication (romosozumab) combined with estrogen replacement therapy can improve bone density in young women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (missing periods due to low energy or stress). It aims to find a better treatment for low bone density caused by this condition.
This study measures bone density and body composition in healthy women to create reference curves. It helps doctors understand what's normal for different ages and ethnic backgrounds.
This observational study looks at how taking (or not taking) estrogen affects bone health in women with cystic fibrosis (CF). If you may have low estrogen, it also explores whether estrogen levels and symptoms relate to bone density over time.
This trial tests whether hormone replacement therapy (HRT) helps protect bone health in teenagers with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). It compares HRT to a placebo and also includes healthy volunteers for comparison.
This trial studies whether estrogen delivered through the skin can help improve bone health in women with anorexia nervosa. It may be considered if your body weight is low and you have signs of bone thinning.
This trial tests an investigational drug called mibavademab for women whose periods have stopped due to a condition called functional hypothalamic amenorrhea (FHA). It may help restart your menstrual cycle by targeting hormones involved in reproduction.
