Acute Heart Failure With Reduced Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction

Who can take part

  • You have shortness of breath and at least one sign of fluid overload (like fluid on lung X-ray, crackly breath sounds, leg swelling, or high neck vein pressure).
  • A blood test (NT-proBNP) done during this hospital stay shows a high level (above 300, or 600 if you have atrial fibrillation).
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is below 40%.
  • You are not currently in the hospital for heart failure caused by a blood clot in the lungs, stroke, or recent heart attack.
  • You haven't had major heart surgery or a heart device placed in the last month, and none is planned.
  • You can use basic electronic devices and have mobile network access where you live.
