Who can take part
- You need surgery to repair your Achilles tendon (either a recent tear or a planned insertional repair).
- If it's a recent tear, surgery must happen within 6 weeks of injury.
- You must be 18 to 89 years old at the time of surgery.
- You cannot have had prior Achilles surgery on either ankle.
- You cannot be pregnant or plan to become pregnant in the next year.
- You cannot have an active infection, uncontrolled diabetes, or certain autoimmune conditions.
